This state-of-the-art, universal monitoring technology delivers less planned and unplanned shutdowns and can be installed on every gapless ZnO surge arrester. SmartCOUNT is the first of a new generation of condition monitors, detecting and alerting operators of unseen issues like degradation, humidity ingress or surface pollution, before they become critical.

The system is a combination of cloud-based software, smartphone app and onsite data loggers and transponders. These elements work together to capture and analyse data around leakage currents and impulse currents, providing accurate information of the arresters’ condition. The smartCOUNT app monitors your surge arresters’ condition and detects typical failure modes simply and clearly.

The benefits include optimised cleaning intervals, overview of all arrester data in one application and optimised arrester replacement schedules. Most important, being alerted to any arresters with degraded functionality better protects your substation.
