Rebosio’s HTV silicone insulators have played a significant role in spreading the use of polymeric insulators on European power networks.

The success of that development means clients can trust materials and construction processes that are unchanged in over 30 years with an exemplary service record.

Rebosio studied a number of materials before launching the Isoflon-E product range. The key to the housing material selected is its natural ability to recover its surface hydrophobicity, even in challenging service conditions.

This ability enables high levels of performance compared to legacy insulation technologies or other composite products. Rebosio’s no compromise approach to the manufacture of polymeric insulators encompasses:

  • Seamless, homogeneous moulding of the insulator housing
  • 100% quality control built in to the crimping process, from the rod to end fittings
  • In-house manufacturing facility for glass reinforced core rods

The Next-Generation Composite Insulator

Next-Generation Composite Insulators

Rebosio has released their next-generation of composite insulators featuring a new design offering more capabilities including larger creepage clearance, reduced risk of flashover and a more cost-effective product.

The next-generation insulator has been designed to be interchangeable with the current infrastructure, so you can keep your existing string set fittings.

The Benefits

Protected Creepage Distance:

  • There is a larger protected creepage due to the formation and designed angles of the large and small sheds (as annotated in the technical drawing) reducing the risk of flashover.

Increased Overall Lifespan:

  • Overall creepage is larger due to the shed design. This will increase the overall lifespan as there is a slower voltage breakdown over the longer distance.

Interchangeable Fittings:

  • The next-generation insulator has been designed so there is no change in length and existing string set fittings can remain the unchanged.

Reduced Pollution and Risk of Flashover:

  • The new design of the sheds results in a reduced amount of pollution build up on smaller discs. This will reduce the risk of flashover.

Slimmer Design:

  • The lightweight and slimmer design of the next-generation composite insulators make it more aesthetically pleasing. Due to the lower silicone volume it is proved to be more cost-effective.
