PACE Wins Framework Awards for NIE

In August 2019, PACE won two Framework Awards for Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE). The awards are for 5 years with the opportunity to extend by a further 2 years. This is the first time PACE has been awarded a framework by NIE and is welcome reward after 3 years of hard work and tendering. PACE is now the sole supplier to NIE of post insulators with multi-purpose e.g. for use in substations, on Trident projects, with switch gear etc. PACE is also the sole supplier of surge arresters to NIE, a development that sees further deepening of PACE’s partnership with German manufacturer Tridelta.

Several orders have already been received since winning the NIE framework awards and PACE is responding to these flexibly. In certain cases, it has been necessary to re-design the insulator to meet the specific technical requirements and needs of NIE. It is hoped that NIE may choose to take advantage of PACE’s stocking service which will enable excellent lead times on delivery and provide NIE with significant flexibility.
