Morris Line Training and Commissioning
Morris Line Engineering has supplied thousands of manual Rail Track Switches/Disconnectors across the UK rail network, complemented by approximately 1,500 motorised units. While these widely adopted devices have occasionally been assembled on-site from component parts, leading to complications in site setup and operation, Morris Line has collaborated closely with Network Rail to implement measures ensuring consistent installation practices. As part of this initiative, Morris Line Engineering emphatically discourages the use of non-MLE products, such as tension rods.
In a strategic move, Morris Line Engineering exclusively provides fully assembled switches rather than switches in kit form. This approach aims to eliminate common issues arising from kit-supplied switches, such as variations in contact spring pressures and contact alignment.
To facilitate the precise setup and operation of Morris Line Engineering’s versatile system, an intensive training course has been developed. This course, spanning three days, offers practical insights and comprehensive fault-finding information. It serves as an invaluable knowledge base for individuals working with Morris Line Engineering’s Track Switches. Importantly, the course is mandatory for those involved in commissioning MLE motorised isolators.
Numerous engineers from Network Rail and other organisations involved in the installation of Morris Line Engineering’s Track Switches have recently completed this course, with many more scheduled to attend.
